Terms of Service

Last updated: 26 August 2026

1. Who we are

Earnest Family is provided by The Vector Foundry AB, org. no. 559535-5636, Sweden ("we", "us"). Contact: info@vectorfoundry.se.

2. The service

Earnest Family is an app that helps families run routines: parents create tasks and rewards, children complete them and earn virtual balances (money amounts and stars).

Balances in Earnest Family are a bookkeeping tool, not real money. The app does not hold funds, issue cards, or transfer money. Any actual payout of allowance is agreed and handled between you and your child outside the app.

3. Beta period

Earnest Family is currently in open beta. During the beta, Premium features are available to all households free of charge. We may change or remove features, and we may end the beta; when we do, the end date is shown in the app well in advance, after which the free plan limits apply unless you subscribe.

4. Accounts

Parent accounts may only be created by adults (18+). You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential. Child profiles are created and managed by a parent or guardian, who is responsible for the child's use of the app. Children sign in with a login code generated by the parent; keep these codes within the family.

5. Free and Premium plans

The free plan includes a limited number of children, tasks and rewards. Premium removes these limits and adds features such as automatic allowance payouts, parent approval of tasks, and manual balance adjustments. Current prices are shown in the app before purchase. If a subscription ends, your data is not deleted: items beyond the free plan's limits become read-only until you subscribe again.

6. Subscriptions and billing

Subscriptions are sold and billed by our payment partner Stripe, acting as merchant of record. Applicable VAT or sales tax is shown at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically (monthly or yearly) until cancelled. You can cancel at any time via "Manage subscription" in the app's settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, and you keep Premium until then. If a renewal payment fails repeatedly, the subscription ends and the free plan applies.

7. Withdrawal and refunds

See our Withdrawal & Refund Policy.

8. Acceptable use

Do not use Earnest Family to break the law, to infringe others' rights, to attempt to access other households' data, or to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.

9. Our content and your content

The app, its design and its software are our property or that of our licensors. Data you enter (names, tasks, rewards, notes) remains yours; you grant us the right to store and process it solely to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Availability and liability

We provide the service with reasonable skill and care but cannot guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claims relating to the service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer, or our liability for gross negligence or intent.

11. Termination

You may stop using the service and request deletion of your account and data at any time by contacting info@vectorfoundry.se. We may terminate or suspend accounts for material breach of these terms.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we will give notice in the app in advance. Continued use after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Swedish law. Disputes may be brought before Swedish courts. As a consumer you may also contact the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, arn.se, Box 174, 101 23 Stockholm).
